What Is GenLaw?

GenLaw UK is a modern legal consultancy platform offering affordable, fixed-fee legal services tailored to startups, SMEs, and individuals across the UK. We are not a law firm. Instead, we operate as a non-SRA regulated legal consultancy, delivering practical legal solutions through a network of experienced freelance solicitors.

GenLaw vs. Law Firms

Law Firms:


  • Fully regulated entities authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

  • Permitted to carry out reserved legal activities, including litigation, conveyancing, and probate.


GenLaw UK:


  • Not an SRA-authorised law firm and does not offer reserved legal services.

  • Specialises in non-reserved legal services, including:


    • Contract and policy drafting

    • Legal reviews and consultancy

    • Intellectual property filings

    • Startup and SME legal support

    • Company formation and compliance packs

Our Legal Professionals

All legal services at GenLaw are delivered by:


  • Freelance solicitors with verified qualifications and experience in UK legal practice.

  • Professionals who operate independently and are responsible for the legal work they provide under GenLaw’s platform.


While our freelance solicitors are qualified, they act in a consultancy capacity, and not as part of a regulated law firm. They are not acting as solicitors in the regulated sense unless separately instructed and operating within an SRA-regulated environment.

Your Rights as a GenLaw Client

  • Transparent Pricing: All fees are fixed and clearly displayed before purchase.

  • Confidential Service: We handle all matters with professional confidentiality.

  • Professional Standards: Our freelance solicitors operate under professional codes of conduct applicable to their individual status.

  • Complaints Procedure: We operate a clear and accessible internal complaints process.

Important Notice

GenLaw UK is not a law firm and is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).


We do not provide:


  • Representation in court or tribunals

  • Litigation or advocacy services

  • Reserved legal activities


Clients using GenLaw are not covered by SRA’s Compensation Fund or mandatory professional indemnity insurance for law firms.

All services are provided subject to GenLaw’s Terms of Use and governed by the law of England & Wales.

Our Fees

  • Fixed fees only – no hourly rates, no hidden charges.

  • Prices cover the end-to-end delivery of the selected legal service.
